Senior Energy Management Engineer or Below #93820

Puget Sound Energy’s Business Energy Management (BEM) Department is looking for an Energy Management Engineer to focus on custom grant development based out of our Bellevue office. You will serve customers representing a wide-variety of end-uses including commercial, industrial and/or institutional that may have substantial technical complexity.

Your projects follow this path: meet with customers to market and explain BEM programs, verify customer eligibility, understand current facility system operations, provide on-site technical support as needed, create project specific energy savings analysis, develop project documents for internal process approval, and document as-built conditions and verify new system operations to close out and authorize payment of the grant to the customer.

You will work closely with customers to develop projects that produce sustainable energy savings. This may include specific activities such as evaluating energy consumption from meter data, assisting with energy audits, implementing sub-metering and system trend-logging. You will recommend measures for improving energy efficiency of equipment either through operations, maintenance or replacement, helping customers to engage and train staff, and working with customers to evaluate resulting changes to equipment loads. You will also work to support the BEM team by developing and delivering programs for customers, and contributing to the on-going development of program support materials including templates, analysis calculators, and reference documents.

The ideal candidate will have several years experience with HVAC systems in various building types (design, commissioning, operating) combined with high-level program management experience. You should be capable of understanding proper operation of complex building systems, communicate with all levels of a customers’ organization, and effectively transfer skills and knowledge to others. You will be expected to provide exceptional customer service by managing expectations by clearly communicating status and next steps. You will implement projects and programs while ensuring compliance of all tariffs and financial procedures, and develop new and revised department policy proposals to increase effectiveness of programs and services. You will successfully and professionally market our energy efficiency programs to eligible customers and various organizations within the commercial and industrial sector, as well as maintain productive contractor relationships to ensure ongoing successful project development and follow-through. You will be looked upon to provide technical expertise to others within the Company and externally.
