MEP BIM Technician

Location: Portland, OR

This role assists senior design and engineering staff through the production of construction documents and development of content in Revit and AutoCAD for all projects.

General Responsibilities

· Leverage Revit and AutoCAD to produce BIM models and construction documents for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, ICT, and lighting systems.

· Create initial Revit and AutoCAD project setup with workflow documents.

· Create content, as directed by the BIM standards group, including parametric, formula and nested families, and type catalogs.

· Collaborate and coordinate with design changes and model challenges.

· Follow BIM content standards and development procedures.

· Perform BIM and drawing quality control for content and presentation on construction documents as assigned.

· Make recommendations regarding design suitability using knowledge of specified product materials and production process.

· Learn and apply codes and engineering standards to enhance the value of BIM support.

Qualifications

· Associates Degree with an architectural or engineering focus, equivalent technical school training, or equivalent work experience.

· Technical and professional expertise with 5 or more years working with Revit MEP and AutoCAD MEP.

· Working knowledge of design industry workflows, production cycle, and priorities.

· Strong verbal and written organizational and communication skills.

· Ability to work on multiple projects and/or in multiple project phases simultaneously.

· Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements

The employee will likely be required to sit at a desk and look at computer monitors for much of the day. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may also be required.
