SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER – HVAC

Hotstart needs a mechanical engineer with relevant HVAC design experience for our new product
development team in Spokane, Washington. We are looking for a motivated candidate to help expand
our capabilities and portfolio of thermal management products.

Primary Position Responsibilities:
▪ Design new HVAC systems to a product specification
▪ Work with HVAC OEMs on optimized component solutions
▪ Advanced machine design and sheet metal design activities
▪ Heat transfer, thermodynamic, and FEA analysis
▪ Participate in industrial electrical control design activities (UL 508A panel shop)
▪ Support manufacturing and quality assurance to optimize delivered product
▪ Support customers on activities such as product application, testing, and troubleshooting
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
▪ EPA Section 608 certification will be required
▪ Experience with high volume manufacturing processes for HVAC machinery
▪ Ability to lead hands-on testing efforts, troubleshooting, and prototype builds
▪ Brazing and welding skills
▪ Experience with latest refrigerant requirements for various applications
▪ Outstanding computer skills and previous experience with SolidWorks design software
▪ Self-starter with can-do attitude and organized work ethic
▪ Willingness to teach and mentor others
▪ BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
▪ 10 or more years of professional experience with OEM HVAC equipment design
