Sad news: Dixon Ervin 1922-2016
We are saddened to announce that longtime member Dixon Ervin has passed away. Our condolences to his family and friends.
Dixon was a courageous member of America’s Greatest Generation serving our country as a B-25 pilot throughout WWII. He died December 28, 2016. He was born to Dixon Ervin, Sr. and Alice Ervin August 24, 1922 in Oakland , California where he grew up.
After the war Dixon attended the UW in engineering, eventually creating his own Seattle engineering firm Ervin Engineers. They were the mechanical engineers for many Seattle office buildings and for schools, hospitals in Washington and Oregon, as well as Navy buildings from California to Alaska. Dixon was an active member of ASHRAE, becoming a fellow and Regional Director. After he retired and moved to Lake Chelan, he remained a member of our Puget Sound chapter.
