The Puget Sound chapter of the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) invites students enrolled in the fields of heating, refrigeration and air conditioning, or in related industries to apply for the Harry Clayton Sutch scholarship.
Founded in 1993, the Harry Clayton Sutch Scholarship is named in honor of our past member and mechanical engineer who was active in the Puget Sound chapter. Mr. Sutch willed an endowed to our chapter which has provided decades of past awards to deserving students.
The scholarships will be valued at $2,000 USD and will be used toward tuition at the recipient’s respective school. The scholarship funds will go directly to the school and will be credited to the student’s name for the Fall quarter of 2025.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be enrolled in one of the programs listed below for the Fall 2025 academic quarter to receive an award.
- Applicant must be a full-time student of North Seattle College or the University of Washington College of Engineering or any other college, university, or program
Future students (individuals who have been accepted into one of the above programs for the Fall 2025 quarter) are eligible to apply. Students graduating in Spring 2025 who will not be enrolled for the Fall 2025 quarter are not eligible to apply.
Criteria:
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Academic transcripts
- Essay responses
- Preference will be given to ASHRAE Student Members (just $30 to register for the year, see more info here).
Puget Sound ASHRAE will select the award recipients from applications received.
Deadline
Apply by Sunday, March 23rd, 11:59 PM to be considered.
We will announce the results on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
