Quality Assurance Manager

HOTSTART, Inc. has an opening for the QA Manager position based at our corporate
headquarters in Spokane, Washington. The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the
development, implementation, and management of all Quality Assurance facets. This is a
hands-on, fast-paced position requiring the ideal candidate to have good problem solving,
organization, communication, and management skills.
Key Position Elements
• Provide clear leadership, ensuring focus of Quality in daily environment and culture.
• Confer with management, customers, suppliers, and other representatives in planning,
scheduling, coordinating, and directing the quality assurance program in conformance with
customer requirements, drawings, specifications, industry requirements, regulatory
requirements, and certifications.
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and effective communication of
QMS requirements.
• Serve as a member of the company’s management team. Develop and maintain strong
relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Work
collaboratively, negotiate, and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and
compliance of the quality strategy.
• Lead the creation and implementation of best practice quality strategy and processes to aid and
improve operational performance while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Align Quality Management System where it utilizes Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)
and subsets including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode
and Effect Analysis (FMEA), SPC, 6S, Continuous Improvement, and Supplier Quality Assurance
(SQA) processes.
• Maintain ISO9001 Certifications and regulatory certifications.
• Lead a ‘correct at source’ and problem solving supporting an effective corrective action process
methodology.
• Serve as liaison with customers on items of product quality or reliability.

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial
reports, legal documents, interpret policies and procedures.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to such tasks as frequency distribution,
determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques,
sampling theory, and factor analysis.
• Proven track record to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory
agencies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of MRPs or ERPs Systems.
• Ability to effectively present information to team members, top management and
customers.
• Knowledge of Quality Tools and standards: ISO9001, APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans,
PPAP, MSA, SQA, 6-Sigma.
Education / Training
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or an Engineering field (Mechanical and/or Industrial).
• Minimum 5 years of Quality Management experience with customer interface, supplier
interface and internal/external auditors.
• ASQ certification (e.g., Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) a plus.
