The government has passed unprecedented energy legislation through the Inflation Reduction Act.  This presentation will give an overview of the tax incentives available for energy efficiency projects, and how designers of energy efficient commercial buildings can benefit. You will learn how Engineers, Owners and Energy Incentive Consultants can work together to promote IRA funding for clean energy property in construction projects, including sections 179D and the Investment Tax Credit.

Kristin Gustafson, PE
Kristin leads the Sustainability and Energy Incentives practice at Eide Bailly, providing specialty tax incentives including 179D Commercial Building Tax Deductions, 45L Residential Tax Credits, and Investment Tax Credits for Renewables. She is a Professional Engineer licensed in all 50 states, as well as an ASHRAE certified Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP), AEE Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Renewable Energy Professional (REP). Kristin is the Regional VP for the Western US for the Association of Energy Engineers and is the Past President of the AEE PNW chapter in Seattle.
