Student Activities
The Student Activities Committee develops a comprehensive program for the educational community for the purpose of promoting and encouraging engineering and HVAC&R careers. It administers and promotes student activities at all levels in the educational system.
Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA)
The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Committee enhances member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger, by identifying activities and services focused on their needs.
Membership Promotion
The Membership Promotion Committee publicizes the aims, activities, achievements, and scientific and educational purposes of the Society to encourage qualified persons to apply for membership.
Research Promotion
The Research Promotion Committee plans and implements programs within the Society to generate funds to support ASHRAE research, YEA, Education (ALI), ASHRAE Foundation, Scholarships, and the General Fund.
Chapter Technology Transfer
The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) provides efficient and effective transfer of current and relevant information throughout the HVAC&R industry to and from the Chapters. CTTC develops and maintains high quality and readily available tools to enable Chapters to offer information and attractive industry-related information and programs to all segments within the HVAC&R industry.
Government Affairs
The Government Affairs Committee is responsible for organizing ASHRAE members to educate local, state, provincial, and national government bodies and officials in areas of interest to ASHRAE members, and to promote effective cooperation between ASHRAE members and government.
Honors and Awards
ASHRAE’s Honors and Awards program recognizes the dedicated ASHRAE Members who give freely of their time and expertise to fulfill the Society’s mission of advancing the arts and sciences of HVAC&R to serve humanity and provide a sustainable world. Our award recipients exemplify the best in engineering and technology by continually bringing credit to the profession and the Society
Reception
The Reception Committee greets members and visitors, introduces guests to others, provides name badges, collects visitor information, and ensures the Membership Promotion Committee receives guest details for follow-up. They also track meeting attendance and introduce guests during the meeting.
Communications
The Communications Committee identifies the communication, collaboration and training needs for membership groups, recommends and maintains policies, and ensures that the implementation of information technologies meets the objectives and needs of the Society.
Historical
The Chapter Historian, appointed by the President-Elect, is responsible for preserving and documenting the chapter’s history. This includes interviewing past presidents and long-time members to record their memories, taking pictures at chapter events, and collecting historical items from officers. They also write articles about the chapter’s history for newsletters, and update historical records annually.
