Emily Osurman
Student Activities Chair
Emily Osurman is a Mechanical Engineer at Affiliated Engineers, Inc., focusing on HVAC solutions in healthcare and cleanroom applications since 2023. She is passionate about sustainable solutions that support her local communities.
Emily has been a member of ASHRAE Puget Sound and Student Activities Chair since 2024. For the past several years, she pursued her passion of educating the next generation of scientists and engineers by volunteering and hosting events for elementary and middle school students in her hometown, Honolulu, HI. She enjoys doing the same here in Seattle and is grateful for the volunteering committee who makes it all possible! In her free time, Emily enjoys crocheting, hiking, traveling, and playing mahjong with her friends.
Michelle Fouard
Student Activities Co-Chair
Michelle Fouard is a Mechanical Engineer at HVAC Double Check, where she provides HVAC and plumbing design for multifamily residential, educational, and small commercial projects. A member of ASHRAE since 2022, she serves as treasurer and supports the Student Activities Committee. Michelle is passionate about volunteering through ASHRAE and introducing the next generation to engineering. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Washington State University.
Student Activities Committee develops a comprehensive program for the educational community for the purpose of promoting and encouraging engineering and HVAC&R careers. It administers and promotes student activities at all levels in the educational system.
The purpose of the Student Activities Committee is to spark interest and passion in K-12 and college students regarding the HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) industry. By highlighting its critical role in sustainability and environmental impact, we aim to empower the next generation with the knowledge and enthusiasm to pursue careers in HVAC&R, ensuring a greener future through innovative solutions and skilled professionals.
