A Deep Dive into Guideline 36

The newest ASHRAE Guideline, 36-2018 High-Performance Sequences of Operation for HVAC Systems, provides uniform sequences of operation for HVAC systems that are intended to:
  • maximize the systems' energy efficiency and performance
  • provide control stability
  • and allow for real-time fault detection and diagnostics
Standardized advanced control sequences provide benefits including:
  • reduced engineering time
  • reduced programming and commissioning time
  • reduced energy consumption
  • improved indoor air quality
  • and a common set of terms to facilitate communication between specifiers, contractors and operators

Speaker Bio: Brice Kosnik, ASHRAE Puget Sound President-Elect

Brice is the director of product development at coppertree analytics in Seattle Washington. After graduating from Washington State University with a degree in physics and applied mathematics he entered the HVAC controls industry and took over as the president of a building automation contractor focused on large campus BAS implementations and integration's in New England.  He has spent the last 12 years in construction management and design fields, and has an intimate knowledge of building control systems.
