An evening event on energy!

Speakers Duane Jonlin and Lisa Rosenow will explain upcoming changes to the 2018 energy code. As the energy code pushes closer to Net Zero, it becomes more and more important to stay on top of changes.

4:30-5:30: Optional Introduction to the Energy Code Workshop. This workshop will discuss code requirements for mechanical systems. The workshop is for engineers who don't regulary use the energy code or for architects and contractors who don't typically get into the details of the mechanical systems. All are welcome, if you have more experience you can help out those who have less experience.

5:30-6:30: Event Registration and Networking

DUANE JONLIN is the "Energy Code and Energy Conservation Advisor" for Seattle's Department of Construction and Inspections, and for the past eight years chaired the Technical Advisory Group developing the Washington state energy code for the State Building Code Council. At the US federal level, he is a voting member of both the ASHRAE 90.1 Committee and the ICC Commercial Energy Code Committee. Prior to taking his position at the City of Seattle, Duane was a principal at NBBJ, with 30 years' experience designing complex projects as a technical architect. He is a featured speaker nationally on issues of energy efficiency and energy regulations, and in 2016 was elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows.

LISA ROSENOW has managed technical support services and developed educational programs and resources for the commercial provisions of the Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) since 2010. She is an instructor and technical advisor, supporting energy code compliance through advocacy and industry education. Lisa is also a member of the WSEC Technical Advisory Committee for the 2018 WSEC. Prior to her involvement with the WSEC, she was a mechanical engineering designer for fifteen years specializing in resource conservation.
