President’s Message September 2015

Welcome everyone to a new year of Puget Sound ASHRAE!

I would like to start out by thanking everyone that worked hard to make our last year successful.  We had the most events we’ve done as a Chapter in years thanks to the hard work of Brice Kosnik our TAC Chair, Ron Wilkinson our YEA Chair and Brian Emtman our Student Activities Chair.  In addition thank you to everyone that donated their time to help each of our chairs.

Whenever we approach folks or they approach us regarding volunteering with the Chapter there is always a concern in regards to the amount of time that is expected from them and honestly we are a volunteer organization and any time someone can put into it is greatly appreciated by all of us on the Board and our Committee Chairs.  This Chapter belongs to all of us and the more people that contribute the better it gets!

Looking forward through this chapter year and beyond we have several opportunities for anyone interested in becoming involved with the Chapter.  Late last year we established a Membership Promotion Committee that is planning a few fun/educational events for all of us and I’m sure they would be happy to have more volunteers join the group.  We will also be having a booth at the children’s science fair again, which I know several people helped out at last year and we would love to have you all come out again.   Lastly, the Puget Sound Chapter will be hosting the Regional Conference May 2017 and there are several volunteer opportunities available from helping setup a golf outing, group dinners, welcome party or bartending at hospitality suite just to name a few.   If any of these spark an interest please feel free to reach out to myself or any other members of the BOG and Committee Chairs.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing everyone at our first meeting of the year!
